Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) is a surgical procedure that removes excess fat tissue and skin from the lower and middle abdomen. This allows us to flatten the abdomen, remove stretch marks or scars that may be in the area as well as defining the muscle structure of your tummy. In most cases abdominoplasty restores and tightens weakened or separated muscles creating an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer.

A tummy tuck is not a substitute for weight loss, it’s purpose is only to shape the body. It can be frequently associated to the liposuction for getting better results. Adominoplasty gives the best results in men or women who are in relatively good shape and have a slight excess of skin and fat (this may be caused by excessive weight gain and loss or pregnancy, which stretches the skin).

After getting the tummy tuck some pain is present, especially during the first postoperative days. However, you will be prescribe painkillers, which should be sufficient to help with any pain you might have. After getting the tummy tuck, patients usually stay in the clinic for 2 – 3 days. The skin of the abdomen will be quite tight and you are usually instructed to remain bent over at least 45 degrees for the first 2-3 days after surgery.
