Brow lift / forehead lift
Brow lift/forehead lift is a cosmetic plastic surgery typically used for reducing creases that appear with age in the forehead. Brow lift corrects the upper eyelid skin excess, brow wrinkles and the eyebrow position. Plastic surgery of your forehead will also soften your horizontal forehead wrinkles and the scowl lines between your eyebrows. Usually the result is a much happier expression in addition to a more rested appearance.
A brow lift can be done alone, or sometimes is done in conjunction with other procedures such as a neck lift, face lift, eyelid surgery. It is most commonly performed in individuals between 40 and 65 years of age. This procedure serves to lift the eyebrows, to reduce the appearance of drooping or saggy skin that appears at the corner of the eses, to reduce the appearance of wrinkles as well as frown or scowl lines that often appear between the eyes as we age. But Brow lift (forehead lift) is also appropriate for younger people who want to raise their eyebrows to a higher and more aesthetic position.
Brow lift surgery is performed at the clinic under general or local anesthesia, according to the character and extent of the surgical procedure. The procedure begins as the surgeon makes an incision behind the hairline.
The skin is lifted up and excess skin is removed. At his stage surgeon can remove the muscles that cause frowning and in so doing reduces the client’s ability to frown. The incision is then closed with stitches or metal clips and the bandage is wrapped around the head. The procedure, if done alone, takes approximately one-to-two hours.
After the surgery there might be uncomfortable felling of ant crawling and pain around the scar. Those usually disappear with time and the pain can be managed with painkillers. Stitches and clips are generally removed within two weeks. You can return to work about 14 days after the surgery. The visible signs of surgery usually fade completely within two to three weeks, and normal hair growth should return.
